Tree Pruning

Tree pruning is often essential in managing trees within the urban environment. Tree pruning operations can reduce hazard potential to humans, dwellings and other assets as well as improving their health and general appearance. We are experts in identifying potential hazards in the canopy and providing solutions for risk minimisation while also having the trees ongoing health as a priority.

Safety inspections

In general, the removal of dead, diseased or dangerous branches can be performed without a council permit as long as its approved by a level 5 Arborist. At Eastside trees we have a full time level 5 Arborist and occasionally use an independent contractor to assess and approve such work. We have vast experience in providing these inspections and corresponding solutions to protect all parties.

Emergency tree work

Storms are a common occurrence in the Sydney area. We are experienced at providing emergency tree services where trees have fallen onto houses or other assets or at risk of causing injury or damage to property. We are an ongoing provider of emergency work to a number of Insurance companies. We are committed to carrying out emergency work efficiently whilst minimising further damage to property.

Our Process

Most tree work will require a permit or approval from your local council for works to be conducted. Each local council has a Tree Preservation Order which outlines the rules, regulations and restrictions when proposing tree work. In general most trees above 5 metres in height are protected by this preservation order. There are some provisions for work that does not require council approval. More information on Council Approvals can be found here.

1. Quote

A site visit is used to assess the work to be carried out. Our team will then determine whether a council permit is required and assist in this process if so. A detailed quote can be prepared on site that includes photographs and a clear and detailed description of the work to be completed.

If Council approval is required our team member can identify what work should be carried out and assist with the Council application process. More information on Council Approvals here.

3. Safety Assessment

Once all work is approved by client and council (if required) our team will carry out an on-site Hazard Assessment prior to any work proceeding. This assessment will also identify any potential damage to property and engage processes to limit such.

6. Follow up

Where possible our team will obtain client approval on site at the conclusion of work to ensure customer satisfaction. If the client is not on site at the completion of work we have quality control systems that maximise client satisfaction rates. If it is proven that the job was not carried out as agreed we will happily arrange a follow up service ASAP.

Council Permits for Tree works

Each Local Government area or Council has a Tree Preservation Order (TPO)  that outlines the rules and regulations that apply to trees on your property. In general, most tree work will require a works permit from your local council. There are some exemptions that vary from council to council. These exemptions are explained in brief here to assist with determining what is allowed in your case.
